Dial-up Set Up: Mac OS X 10.2


Mac OS® X 10.2 - 10.2.1: Jaguar

Follow the steps below to configure the Internet connection in Mac OS® X 10.2.


1. From [Apple] menu, select [System Preferences...].

Alternatively, you can launch [System Preferences] by clicking its icon in Dock.

2. Click the [Network] icon.

3. Choose "New Location..." from the [Location] pull-down menu.

4. Type "Japan Net" in the [Name your new location] text box and click [OK].

5. Choose "Internal Modem" from the [Show] pull-down menu.

6. Within the [TCP/IP] tag, choose "Using PPP" from the [Configure] pull-down menu.

7. Input following information in both the [DNS Servers] text box and the [Search Domains] text box, and then click the [PPP] tag.

DNS Servers 209.137.136.3(Return Key)
209.137.146.2
Search Domains kdd.net

8. Input following information and click the [Modem] tag.

Service Provider Japan Net (Optional)
Account Name (Your PPP Account Name)
ex.) jn/pb000000
Password (Your PPP Password)
Telephone Number Japan Net's Access Number

9. Within the [Modem] tag - [Modem] pull-down menu, choose the name of modem which your Macintosh® has and click the [Apply Now] button. Then click the close button (x) at the top-left corner.

10. Click the [Save] button.


11. Open Finder® - Applications folder - [Internet Connect].

Aleternatively, if you already have the [Internet Connect] icon in dock, click to lunch it.

12. Make sure that "Internal Modem" is selected at the [Configuration] pull-down menu and click the [Connect] button at the right-bottom corner.

13. If you successfully connected to Japan Net, the icon for Internet Connect changes like this bellow.
